In time with COP27 taking place in Egypt right now, Mock COP and UCU have launched a new film highlighting the impacts of the climate crisis on students, pupils, and the education workforce. The film raises awareness of the parallels between how the climate crisis affects those in the Global South and the Global North. We hear the personal stories of the educators impacted, how these climatic events are detrimentally affecting learning, and the physical and emotional damage caused.
This is a call to action from young activists and trade unions, emphasising the need for collective action in addressing the climate crisis in our education institutions and how we need to harness the role of education.
