Speaker Applications Open

Over the past two months, Mock COP26 has made a lot of progress. What used to be a simple idea is quickly becoming a large international event, with a global volunteer base that has been built from the ground up by the youth.

As Mock COP draws ever closer, we are delighted to announce that applications to present at the event are now open. Applications are open to anyone wishing to speak on one of the five themes:

  • Climate Justice
  • Climate Education
  • Climate-Resilient Livelihoods (Green Jobs)
  • Climate-Related Health and Wellbeing
  • National Carbon Commitments.

We especially welcome applications from those in the global south and marginalised communities, as we aim to have a full and true representation of those who are often under-represented at events like this.

Speakers will record themselves presenting on their chosen theme, and these recordings will be shown at Mock COP26. They will also participate in a live panel with other speakers on the same theme. We would also like content for our social media in the run-up to the event and therefore are looking for people to contribute shorter presentations for this too.

If you are interested in this opportunity to create meaningful change on a global scale, please fill in this form by the 19th of September 2020, after which we’ll be in touch to inform you of the outcome of your application or if we need more information from you.

If you have any questions, please email speakers@mockcop.org, and we look forward to reviewing your applications!
